Privacy Policy

ModSapp ("ModSapp", "we", "us") provides a WhatsApp AI sales assistant for businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers both the information about you as our customer and the information you process about your own customers when you use ModSapp.
1. Information we collect
- Account & business details: your name, business name, phone/WhatsApp number, email, products, prices, delivery areas and FAQs you provide.
- Conversation data: messages exchanged between your business and your customers on WhatsApp, including text, voice notes and images, so the assistant can read, reply and keep your records.
- Your customers' data: names, phone numbers, orders, payments and chat history that pass through the service so you can serve them.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor (Paystack). We receive confirmation and reference details, but we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage & device data: basic technical information (e.g. device type, log data) used to run and improve the service.
2. How we use information
- To operate the assistant — read incoming messages and generate replies, take orders and send payment requests.
- To process payments and send receipts, notifications and alerts (WhatsApp, SMS, push).
- To provide your dashboard, analytics and customer records.
- To set up, support, secure and improve the service.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing and service updates.
3. AI processing
To generate replies, customer messages (including voice notes and images) are processed by AI models through our AI provider. This processing is to serve your conversation; we do not sell your data or your customers' data.
4. Service providers we share with
We share data only with trusted providers needed to run ModSapp, under their own terms:
- Supabase — secure database & hosting.
- Paystack — payment processing (MoMo & card).
- WaSender — WhatsApp message delivery.
- AI provider (via OpenRouter) — generating assistant replies.
- SMS provider — owner alert notifications.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account data, subject to records we must retain by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
7. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for handling your customers' information lawfully and for telling your customers how their data is used where required. ModSapp processes that data on your behalf to provide the service.
8. Your choices & rights
You can access or update your business information from your dashboard, and request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
9. Cookies & the app
We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and to run the installable web app (PWA). These are necessary for the service to function.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
